Luserna
Cultural workshop and base camp for cross-country skiing enthusiasts

The smallest and most characteristic of the municipalities occupying the large Trentino plateaus, Luserna is a living witness of the history of the area. It is known as the Cimbrian island, since some of the people here still speak Cimbrian, an Old German dialect. Visitors can admire some examples of rural architecture - such as the Haus von Prükk House Museum - an important Documentation Centre, and lots of exhibitions.
Here too Here too there are numerous and evocative remainders of World War One, such as Fort Lusérn, Millegrobbe trenches and Costalta cemetery.
But Luserna is also an ideal base for the Centro del fondo di Millegrobbe cross-country skiing centre (only 2 km away and part of the SuperNordicSkipass plan), as well as for the Lavarone Ski Center which is a popular destination for both cross-country and Alpine skiing. The Millegrobbe Centre features 35 km ski-runs and 21 km connecting with the Campolongo cross-country skiing centre on the Asiago Plateau, Sette Comuni, not to mention 12 km connecting with Passo Vezzena.
