Natural Parks

Trentino, where nature tells its tale

One of Italy’s oldest national parks and two large natural parks under provincial management: these protected areas deep in the unique landscapes of the Dolomites represent an important part of our natural heritage, preserved and safeguarded by Trentino.

Established to preserve the beauty and authenticity of the countryside, Trentino’s parks are treasure troves of biodiversity, home to a delicate ecosystem which is recognised and protected as a heritage shared by all.

This is why the bodies which manage the parks are committed to promoting respectful, sustainable tourism, offering visitors:

  • Visitor centres: facilities where you can find out more about specific topics and learn the history of the territory, natural features, etc.;
  • Themed trails, i.e. itineraries to lead you on a discovery of the impressive animal and plant biodiversity, geological points of interest and cultural heritage;
  • Sustainable transport services, such as shuttle buses and electric bikes, to get to the most beautiful and delicate areas;
  • Guided activities organised around seasonal schedules, rich with options for excursions, workshops and educational activities aimed at all kinds of participants;
  • Training courses and educational activities for all school levels and types, including a fully fledged Wildlife School (Scuola Faunistica), as well as a variety of other environmental awareness initiatives.
