Fondazione Mach

In addition to the renovated line of grappas, this distillery produces fruit brandies (apple, pear, cherry and elderberry).
It also produces various single-variety grappas (Chardonnay, Müller Thurgau, Nosiola, Traminer, Moscato giallo, Moscato rosa, Rebo, Pinot Nero, Schiava, Cabernet) as well as a grappa born of the blending of various pomaces, called grappa Castel San Michele. It has recently produced and sold a grappa aged over four years. Its deep-rooted vine-growing tradition, moreover, has led it to produce a wine made solely for distillation purposes, resulting in an especially acclaimed aged wine brandy.

IASMA
The Istituto Agrario di San Michele all'Adige agrarian institute, since January 2008 named Fondazione Edmund Mach, conducts scientific research and teaching, training, testing, consulting and service activities for wineries and distilleries, in the fields of agriculture, agrofood and the environment. Founded in 1874 when the regional Tyrolean Diet of Innsbruck resolved to establish in San Michele an agrarian school with its own laboratories for the launching of agriculture in Tyrol, through the years the institute has achieved important goals in the fields of research and education.
