Palio della Sloiza

The Palio dela Sloiza is a challenge among the eight villages of Primiero in the re-enactmant of one of the traditional agricoltural activities of the past: the use of "sloiza" (a sort of wooden slet) as a mean of transport.
The teams will test their strength and skill: walk a strech through the streets of the village with hay, cut the wood, ring the cowbells.. after the various trials, the challenge end with the arrival in Piazza San Marco to pound on wood with the ax.
The Palio is preceded by an evening in wich in the small squares of the old town centre, the works of the past are relived: from mining to traditional farming activities, from craft activities to those related to timber.
During the evening, it will be possible to taste the typical sweets of Primiero and other specialities.
