A 4 days festival that celebrate the returning of the animals after the alpine pasture
From 21st to 24rd September 2023, the villages of Primiero Valley will host "La Gran Festa del Desmontegar”.
A 4 days festival that celebrate the returning of the animals after the alpine pasture. With the arrival of the cold weather, the herds – dairy bovines, heifers, calves and horses – return to the stables in the villages, to the respective owners. For them the long period (from three to four months) of alpine pasture, is over. For the all season, the animals ate aromatic herbs and wild flowers, which gave to their milk a unique perfume. You can find the same perfume in the typical cheeses of these dolomitic valleys.
