Hay Festival
For one day, Moena turns into a village with a country chic flavour where hay is the star in all its yellow-green hues
The Fairy of the Dolomites changes clothes and for a whole day the village centre will be decorated in country style. Original furnishings made from the fragrant hay of freshly mown meadows will adorn "Piaz de Sotegrava" and "Piaz de Ramon". From the morning, the haymaking tradition is mixed with horse-drawn carriage rides, donkey rides, games and workshops for children. At lunchtime, typical dishes are offered by the restaurants and bars on the two squares. You can even book a relaxing hay bath at the hotel (see list of facilities), with its purifying and detoxifying action. The party starts at 6 p.m. with an aperitif accompanied by the "Highway 66 Country Band" and their typical US sound. The most eagerly awaited moment is at 9 p.m. when the Genoese band will perform, in the "Piaz de Ramon" square, in a concert that musically retraces the legendary journey along the historic Route 66. At the same time, the "Let's go country line" and "Apple Jack" will drag you to the "Piaz de Sotegrava" square with line dance steps. Get your leather boots and wide-brimmed hat ready: we look forward to seeing you on Friday 14 July and Wednesday 9 August!
Free workshop for children, at least 5 years old, in the "Alpine Pearls" square (4-7 p.m.; duration 30 minutes; maximum 8 children per round; no registration required).
In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled on Saturday 15 July and Thursday 10 August.
