Pordoi Pass - Sass Pordoi - Forcella Pordoi - Piz Boè - Boè Refuge - Forcella Pordoi - Pordoi Pass
Piz Boè, the only three-thousand metre peak in the Sella Group, is one of the most popular peaks in the Dolomites. Reachable from all four ridges that converge on the summit of the beautiful pyramid, mountaineering path no. 638 runs along its ridges overlooking the Mesules Plateau.
From Pordoi Pass take the cable car to Sass Pordoi (2,948 m) and then go downhill on path no. 627/A to the Forcella Pordoi. Now keep going towards the central plateau (path no. 627). Leave path no. 627 and take no. 638 when you come to it. This path takes you up to the top of the Piz Boè mountain without too much difficulty also thanks to metallic ropes placed all long the uphill. You will reach the Capanna Piz Fassa Refuge where you can get refreshments. Now go down the north-west side of the mountain. There is a short rocky section which is equipped with a metal safety cord and wodden stairs and then you reach the Boè Refuge. To get back to the Forcella Pordoi you now cut across the base of the Piz Boè on path no. 627. Now climb back up to the cable car station at Sass Pordoi.
