Euregio Sprint Champion Final
On September 25 in Trento during the event 'Festival dello Sport'
The Sprint Champion was born some years ago from the idea of the Tyrolean Thomas Abfalter, who designed an innovative project in collaboration with the Tiroler Leichtathletik Verband, which was then also undertaken in South Tyrol and Trentino.
The aim of the project is to attract and find new athletes and talents not only in the athletics tracks, but also but also within towns, city centres and squares, during celebrations or festivals, allowing children and youth to participate for free in the qualification rounds, running a 30 meters sprint, for how many times they want: in this way, having fun is the fundamental component.
The protagonists are children / teenagers up to 13 years of age (year of birth 2009) who run individually on a flat surface; two photocells detect the passage at the beginning and at the end of the delimited section, and the chronometric result can be read immediately on a led display board.
The 120 fastest children in each category selected in the territorial qualification stages will have the chance to compete against each other in the "EUREGIO Sprint Champion FINAL" on September 25 in Trento during the event 'Festival dello Sport', thanks also to the support of Trentino Marketing and APT Trento.
