The EYC is one of the most important youth competitions at a European level in archery.
The EYC is a youth archery competition reserved for national teams and articulated in two stages. The race includes Cadets and Juniores, boys and girls between 15 and 20 years belonging to both the division of the Olympic arch and the compound. Extra-European nations can also take part in the event. The race takes place at distances of 50, 60 and 70 meters, depending on the age and type of bow and provides the following categories:

- in teams: 3 athletes of the same Nation, division, category and gender
- mixed team: a boy and a girl from the same country, division and category
- 300 athletes
- 80 between coaches and delegates
- more than 30 participating nations
- 64 targets on the field and 50,000 arrows drawn
