"Snowshoes have the great power to regenerate mind and body" explains the mountain guide who accompanies us in our experience.
We decided to take an easy hike so we headed to Andalo ‘s sport centre, wherethe trail to the lake tour starts. We spent some minutes figuring out how to tie snowshoes at our feet (for us was the first time) and then, poles in hand, we forwarded to the forest from where, silently, we gazed at the frozen lake.
Walking with snowshoes is like floating. The snow crunches under your feet and broad snowshoes prevent sinking into the snow.
The walk allows us to reach beautiful spots immersed in silence, in the magic of the forest of the Adamello Brenta Park, a nature reserve which is home to several species of animals and plants. In the woods we find red and white fir, beech trees now bare; above our heads a hawk whistles.
After about 50 minutes of a quiet walk, we reach the Tana dell'Ermellino, where a hearty snack is waiting for us. Walking with snowshoes whets your appetite and we hasten to reach the table: strudel and apple juice, hot chocolate with whipped cream and cake "fregoloti" (with the addition of a bit of Trentino Grappa). Who knows when we'll get up from this table ...
