The Pontedilegno-Tonale ski area, located between Valle Camonica in Lombardy and Val di Sole in Trentino, is one of the most complete and spectacular mountain destinations for winter sports lovers.
It offers over 100 km of ski slopes, with a total vertical drop of 2,000 meters — starting from 1,121 m in Temù and reaching up to 3,000 m on the Presena Glacier, where natural snow allows skiing well into late spring.
One of the Most Famous Black Runs in the Alps: The Paradiso
From the Presena Glacier, skiers can descend along one of the most iconic black slopes in the Alps — the Paradiso run — featuring a maximum gradient of 45%. From there, it’s possible to continue skiing all the way to Ponte di Legno via Passo Tonale, completing an 11 km uninterrupted downhill run — one of the longest in Europe.
A Modern and Well-Connected Ski Carousel
The Pontedilegno-Tonale ski carousel is seamlessly linked by a network of modern, efficient ski lifts, all accessible with a single ski pass. Moving between Temù, Ponte di Legno, Tonale, and Presena is fast and easy, ensuring a full day on the snow without interruptions.
Beyond Alpine Skiing: Snowparks, Skicross, and Activities for Everyone
The area isn’t just for alpine skiing. At Passo Tonale, you’ll find one of the longest skicross tracks in the Alps — over 1,000 m of descent with jumps, bumps, and banked turns. There’s also a fully equipped snowpark for freestyle enthusiasts.
For younger visitors, Fantaski awaits in the heart of Passo Tonale — a dedicated learning area with magic carpets, snow games, a kids' club, and babysitting service. A true paradise for families with children.
Ski Lessons for Everyone – Even in Foreign Languages
The ski schools in the area — Tonale-Presena, Ponte-Tonale, Evolution, and Pontedilegno Ski School — offer courses in alpine skiing, snowboarding, telemark, freestyle and freeride, as well as ski mountaineering (skialp). Instructors are also qualified to teach skiing to people with disabilities.
Alternative Winter Sports and Snow Adventures
Pontedilegno-Tonale is the ideal destination for a wide variety of winter outdoor activities, including:
Cross-country skiing in Vermiglio and Ponte di Legno
Snowshoeing through snowy forests
Freeriding in fresh powder
Sleddog rides with Siberian Huskies (at the Huskyland school)
Snowkiting and fat biking
Ice skating
Snowmobile excursions
Ice driving courses
Paradice Music: Concerts Inside the Ice
From January to March, the Presena Glacier hosts the Paradice Music Festival — a one-of-a-kind event in the world. Concerts take place inside an igloo entirely made of ice, with instruments sculpted from ice. A magical experience not to be missed.
