Ogre's bridge (starting point from Ospedaletto)
This easy walking track, lead you at the foot of one of the most curious, and at the same time, most spectacular rocky monuments in Trentino. This is the Ogre’s bridge, a majestic natural sculpture which rise out of the stream that descended into the Val Bronzale.
This spectacular “Dolomites arc bridge”, is one of the most important natural "bridge" that can be found in the north of Italy, is the result of the incessant work of the water that has slowly eroded the monolith up to change it in the present conformation. Ogre’s bridge, locatedat an altitude of 610 mt, stands out clearly from the surrounding ground. Its overall walkable width is 72.5 meters, while it smain body, 12m thick and 4meters wide, rises to a heightof 37meters above the ground.
Because of its "inhuman" proportions we understand that the author can not be other than the Orc, that is what the legend said about this spectacular and curious rocky conformation. Access to "Ogre’s bridge" is served by an easy path, with a very hard surface, equipped with fence and even fountain.
