PARAD-ICE MUSIC: ICE CONCERTS, ON THE ICE

At 2,600 metres above sea level, visitors can experience the dramatic sounds of the world-famous orchestra that travels the world with their made-of-ice instruments – a unique experience that takes place inside an igloo-shaped concert hall within a glacier. The Presena Glacier, between Trentino and Lombardy, is reachable from Passo Tonale thanks to the Paradiso cable car (tickets for lifts and shows can be purchased online or at the ticket office downstream of the cable car).

The igloo structure is a building that must reconcile the needs of the public, musicians, and ice instruments. The design of the building allows the natural ventilation of the hot air emanating from the breath of the spectators which is naturally conducted upwards and therefore out of the structure. The instruments created by the artists Lino Mosconi, Giorgio Tomaselli and Matteo Aielli thus remain in the cold air at stage height. The igloo therefore becomes a "safe space" for instruments thanks to its ideal conditions for producing excellent music.

Under the artistic direction of Ivan Mariotti, the festival offers dozens of concerts: from January to March the events are scheduled every Thursday and Saturday. The “Paradice” Band is an ensemble of musicians with different artistic backgrounds, who will accompany the public into the wonderful world of Paradice Music. Dolomiti Ski Jazz 2024

Nine days of jazz and fun in the Fiemme and Fassa Valleys

Rhythmic and joyful music among snowy landscapes: this is the original idea behind Dolomiti Ski Jazz. In March 2024, the most popular jazz and funk music will be part of the winter landscape of the Dolomites, with numerous concerts at high altitudes in close proximity to the winter sports hubs. At Dolomiti Ski Jazz the concerts are listened to with skis on, directly on the slopes, in the theatres and clubs of the Fiemme and Fassa Valleys. Some of the most important names on the international jazz scene will perform in fascinating and exciting shows at various locations in the Trentino Valley. A great musical event where mountains and jazz meet on the slopes, in clubs and pubs of the renowned ski area.

Accompanying this high-altitude musical event will also be the Dolomiti Food Jazz, a food and wine event that will bring delicious performances to the mountain huts and restaurants of Val di Fiemme, amidst melodies of local cheeses, wines and beer.
