The Power of Words

This unusual event transforms the natural stage of Pian della Nana into the very earliest form of theatre, celebrating humanity’s most rudimentary form of story-telling and entertainment: oral narrative. In fact, the steadfast nature of the narrative tradition is evidence of just how powerful it is, enduring across the millennia and all their upheavals.

And there could be no better narrator for this gathering than Stefano Massini: famous for his television appearances, but admired particularly as a contemporary story-teller with a distinctive and highly original literary flair. His voice will play the starring role in this performance, accompanied by the ever-surprising music of Stefano Corsi, who combines the notes of the Celtic harp with those of the harmonica, and Enrico Fink, pairing the transverse flute with the accordion.

We will give ourselves over to the music and narration, letting them transport us to remote destinations scattered far from us and from each other, on a voyage that can bridge chasms in space and time: all in thrall to the beauty of our most ancient, complete, and genuine art.
