From Dosso di Costalta (1957 m) the view is splendid: the Brenta Dolomites can be admired in all their arched eastern flank, the Lagorai and the Dolomites to the east. The hike can be completed round trip on the same route, or extended towards the Redebus Pass via Malga Cambroncoi.

Costalta Mountain

Turn-by-turn directions

From Miola take the trail signposted 'SAT E 404' to Bivacco della Casara (1658 m). During this first stretch, you repeatedly switch from a dirt road to a path which keeps crossing it. From Baracca della Casara (a welcoming refreshment point), the path (still No. 404) climbs in wide hairpin bends. After an approximately 300-m ascent which can be completed in about half an hour, you reach the gently shaped summit. If you wish to avoid returning by the same route, it is possible to lengthen the hike towards the Redebus Pass, passing by Malga Cambroncoi and then circling around Sas de Sant'Orsola. From the pass to Baselga di Piné, the route presents no difficulty: about ten kilometres first downhill and then flat.
