Minor mountain compared to the near Rujoch but wich reserve great expectations. Less frequented, very beautiful and particular! A ring tour to explored on all its side. One last detail: a must at Stramaiolo hut to taste some tipycal Trentino dishes.

Turn-by-turn directions

From Redebus pass walking on the paved road for 100m you go in Val dei Mocheni direction; arriving at a big wood sign that says "Benvenutiin Val dei Mocheni" you can note two roads that started from the principal; leaving out the right road that conduce at Cambroncoi hut, take the left with "Fernu" indications. Going into the wood on the paved road it is perceived immediately an tranquillity air. After about 1Km and two hairpin bends, continue with "Stialt" and "Naibis" indication, avoiding the road that goes in the left. 

After other 600m you can see on the left a path in climb to take and leave the comfortable road (trail sign n°462 and "passo Polpen direction). The path it's very steep but it will soon soften ad after about an hour of walking it conduced at Polpen pass caraterizing from lawn and vegetation of high mountain.

After having tasting the panorama on the beautiful peaks of Val dei Mocheni, we leave for the last meters that separete from the peaks. At the pass continuing on the path tracks in south-west direction, leaving behind the great dorsal of Rujoch mountain and in short we arriving at Pontara-Lemperperg top.

The panorama from here it's breathtaking and it's worth to spend some times for photos; after eating a snack and somethin todrink the tour continuing. You returning at Polpen pass continuing on "malga Stramaiolo Alta" direction and for a good path between rhododendrons, you go down in altitude until the hut. Continuing for the road notice in the distance the Stramaiolo hut, excellent base for replenishing energy. Continuing on the paved road, after about 1Km, take the left road with "malga Pontara 443/B" indications, upon arrival of the same. Continuing always in the hut (443/B) you quickly arriving at Regnana hut and then at Redebus pass, started point of this interesting ring tour.

Public transport

Dalla stazione delle corriere di Trento prendere la linea B403 in direzione Montesover (Trento - Pergine - Baselga di Pinè - Montesover) o la linea B402 (Trento - Nogarè - Baselga di Pinè -Montesover) e scendere a Centrale di Bedollo. Non ci sono mezzi pubblici che collegano l'abitato di Bedollo con il Passo del Redebus pertanto il luogo di partenza deve essere raggiunto con mezzi propri.

Getting there

Dall’autostrada A22 del Brennero (da sud uscita Trento sud – da nord uscita Trento nord) e dalla Statale 12 del Brennero, prosegui per la S.S. 47 della Valsugana per Pergine Valsugana – Padova fino al bivio della Mochena per Altopiano di Piné, per poi transitare sulla S.P. 83 di Piné fino al passo Redebus.

Parking

Presso il “bar e ristorante passo Redebus” situato sull’omonimo passo; ampia la possibilità di parcheggio “a bordo strada”.

Equipment

Even on relatively short easy outings make sure to take all you need so you don't run into trouble if things take an unexpected turn, for example a storm blows up or you have a sudden drop in energy levels.

  • make sure to wear or at least bring a pair of long trousers

  • whistle to attract attention in an emergency

Make sure you're wearing the right footwear for the trail and season. The going can get rough and rocky underfoot and a pair of hiking boots will protect you from sprains.

And finally... don't forget to bring your camera! You'll need it to capture the stunning views.
