9 - Rosspach tour

The German-Cimbrian settlers who reached the mountain of Folgaria translated some of the place names already present in the area, among them the name of the Rio Cavallo stream, which in Cimbrian became Rosspach. The Rosspach stream is a lush and lively torrent that descends the valley of the same name and flows into the Adige River. The path, shrouded in a dense spruce forest, takes us to get to know it. It is also suitable for families with children aged +6/8 years.

The beauty of this route lies in its naturalistic, historical and religious aspects. In fact, it takes us into the upper valley of the Rio Cavallo, into the bed of the Rosspach torrent, then takes us up to the plateau, taking us to the village of Francolini (formerly known as Vallorsara) and, along an easy dirt road, to the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie (16th century). Finally, it takes us back to Folgaria, from the east, along the beautiful and convenient Via Crucis road.
