35 - Rust tour from Carbonare
<p>Monte Rust is an elevation, completely wooded, that rises between Carbonare and Lake Lavarone. It is known for the fact that on its summit are the remains of the Optical Link Station, i.e. the ruins of a building that during the Great War (1914-1918) was used to exchange light signals via the optical telegraph system. It is also the destination of beautiful walks that can be taken from Carbonare as well as from Lavarone Chiesa.</p>
<p>The route goes around and up the high ground, without reaching the summit. Once at the highest point, however, it is worthwhile to reach the optical connection station: the holes in the walls of the station are clearly visible, where the electric projectors that sent signals to the Forts located along the defence line of the Highlands were placed.</p>
