Chiesa di S. Vigilio - Moena
The church of St. Vigilio is the expression of the typical spirituality of the Ladin folk culture.
The church of S. Vigilio, patron saint of the town, dominates the inhabited part of Moena with its Gothic bell tower. It was consecrated in 1164 by the Bishop Prince of Trento Adalpreto II. Inside you can admire numerous works, such as the altar-piece of the Moena artist Valentino Rovisi (1715-1783), pupil of Tiepolo in Venice. He is certainly the most influential artist born in the valley and many works of his can be seen throughout the province.
