Saint Germain Swing Quartet
The 26th edition of Dolomiti Ski Jazz arrives at the foot of Buffaure, at the Dolomites Geyser, with a concert by the Saint Germain Swing Quartet and their music of 1950s Paris
From 8th to 17th March, the "jazz track" crosses the valleys of Fassa and Fiemme with concerts on the terraces of the refuges, in clubs, theatres and squares.
From Canazei to Cavalese, all the way to Cembra: the Dolomiti Ski Jazz proposes also this year as many as 24 concerts. Warm rhythms such as jazz, but also blues, funk and Latin music will create thrilling contrasts with the snow-covered scenery of the Dolomites. Artists from the international scene will perform in the evenings in the clubs and theatres of the villages, while during the day they will take to the mountains, on the terraces of the mountain huts, some of which can also be reached by non-skiers. The festival will move day after day from one slope to another, from the Belvedere ski area in Canazei to the Alpe Cermis in Cavalese.
Dolomiti Ski Jazz: Saint Germain Swing Quartet. Dolomites Geyser (Buffaure Pozza), Tuesday 12 March at 12 noon
Programme: the music of 1950s Paris, from Ellington to Django Reinhardt. Saint Germain Swing Quartet tackles the repertoire performed by swing orchestras in the dance halls of the early 20th century. A project created to celebrate the energy of acoustic jazz of the "hot" period, born in the slums of Harlem and becoming "à la page" in Parisian cafés and bistros.
Music band: Davide Veronese (trumpet and vocals), Marco Putinato (saxophones), Andrea Boschetti (guitar), Beppe Pilotto (double bass).
The concert is free of charge. The venue can also be reached on foot, from the "Buffaure" cabin lift valley station.
