On Tuesday, May 23rd, Giro d’Italia will pass through Serrada on the Alpe Cimbra.
The 16th stage of Giro d’Italia – namely Sabbio Chiese-Monte Bondone – is the second big stage of the tour, of maximum difficulty. The first part of the route runs along the western coast of the Lake Garda and reaches Riva del Garda in Trentino; then, it goes up the challenging Santa Barbara Pass and Bordala Pass in close succession. The race continues with a rapid descent to Rovereto, from which cyclists access the Vallarsa valley, and then a turn towards the Folgaria plateau, where the village of Serrada is ready to welcome Giro d’Italia. A demanding descent to Calliano, in the Adige valley, is then followed by the only, short flat stretch of around 10 km. Lastly, the tour goes up Mount Bondone from the side of Aldeno.
