There are wide open vistas around the Rifugio Campei, but if you want to enjoy a view of Lake Garda’s blue waters just make the short walk up to the summit of Monte Varagna (20 minutes, difficulty E), then continue along the same path towards the summit of Monte Altissimo where you’ll also find the refuge of the same name (1:30 hours, difficulty E).

The main starting points to reach Rifugio Campei (be careful to follow indications for Rifugio Campei di Sopra):
On foot from the village of Festa (Brentonico) in 1:30 hours following the path n. 650 (difficulty E).
You can get to the refuge in less than 2 hours by walking up from Torbole to Nago, and then following the path n. 601 to Monte Varagna then path n. 624 to Campei (difficulty E)
From Monte Altissimo following the path n. 601-624 or from Bocca Paltrane
To reach the refuge by car you need a permit that can be requested directly to the mountain hut manager.
