10 things to do in Moena

The fairy of the Dolomites is tinged with pink and green

Moena is located at just over 1,100 metres above sea level, surrounded by the Latemar, Catinaccio, Marmolada and Cima Bocche peaks. It is very easy to reach: if you come from the south, Egna/Ora is the closest motorway exit (45 km away), if you prefer public transport there are frequent connections from Trento and Bolzano.

Moena is the Fairy of the Dolomites. Its magic unfolds every day, at dawn and dusk, during the Alpenglow, a phenomenon which turns the peaks of the Dolomites pink and has inspired many stories and legends, such that of King Laurino, arguably the most famous.

This beautiful pink-hued fairy also has a strong “green” vocation. In fact, it is part of the Alpine Pearls association of Alpine municipalities, which brings together 25 of the most beautiful Alpine resorts attentive to sustainability and gentle mobility with stress-free holiday proposals in full harmony with nature.

If you scroll through the 10 points below, you will discover how this village can be interesting in every season of the year. Our recommendations will also allow you to immerse yourself in the Ladin culture of the Dolomites, which you will find in the language proudly spoken by the locals, in the districts with stately homes decorated with frescoes, in the fountains and chapels. And, for sure, around the table as well.

Benvegnui (Welcome) to Moena!
