San Pellegrino - San Pellegrino Bike Trail
It is one of the most interesting loops of the San Pellegrino Bike Trail that runs at the foot of the Costabella Ridges, from Baita Paradiso to Fuciade.

You ride on a mixed-use path, also frequented by hikers, so moderate your speed. From the pass, take the Costabella chairlift. From the upper station, immediately take the dirt road (uneven and stony) running quickly towards Baita Paradiso. After passing the refuge, face a steep descent then climb the opposite slope (loc. Pont > Val de San Tomas) and follow the Italian military mule track that cuts transversely across the green Val Tegnosa before rejoining the road to Fuciade (loc. La Regòla). Watch out for grazing animals! Upon reaching the refuge, continue on the dirt road. Leave to the left the fork to Forca Rossa (trail sign no. 670) and follow along Prà Gran. The road narrows to a trail and descends sharply through pastures until emerging onto the dirt road leading to Valfredda. Join the paved road and return towards the pass, climbing the highway in the last section.

Variants to avoid climbing by chairlift: 1) follow the dirt road that, starting behind the Hotel San Marco, climbs up to loc. Pont. 2) From the valley station of the Gigante chairlift (closed in summer) reach Chalet Cima Uomo, then turn left and climb Val de San Tomas.

The San Pellegrino Bike Trail is easily reached by lifts from Passo San Pellegrino or Falcade. Access requires purchasing the appropriate bike pass or the Dolomiti Supersummer card, valid in multiple resorts. If this is your first time in the valley, we recommend relying on a bike guide.
