Autumn is a good time

Journey along the Taste Trails to discover local delights

A slice of the Mediterranean amidst Alpine scenery. It seems like an illusion, but Garda Trentino has never been more real. In autumn, windsurfers still whizz over the waves of the Ora, the villages are calmer but still active, the farmers shake out the olives for the harvest.

Indeed, Garda Trentino is the northernmost place in the world where extra virgin olive oil is produced. The local mills make an extra virgin olive oil, which is excellent on the table when served with carne saladaBroccolo di Torbole, a Slow Food presidium, or lake fish.

The Olive Trail is the Taste Trail that leads you straight into this Alpine Mediterranean landscape.

In Trentino, there are several Taste Trails that take you to the very heart of local products and the land they come from.
Some wind through Europe’s most beautiful vineyard gardens, others pass through ancient chestnut groves or follow the paths lined with historic fruit trees.
These trails are simple and pleasant to walk, especially in the fresh, colorful atmosphere of autumn.

The walnut is the heart of this territory, characterized by a picturesque scenery peppered with historic rural hamlets, and the itinerary reveals tucked-away corners and lanes off the beaten path.
