This museum hosts the ethnographic collections of the Istitut Cultural Ladin (cultural institute), which have been built up over 20 years of research and are complemented by engaging interactive displays.

This modern, innovative museum presents an overview of the entire history of the Ladin people, covering everything from prehistory, production activities, traditional society, civil and religious ceremonies, beliefs and traditions, to the advent of mountaineering and mass tourism. On the exhibition route are 15 interactive displays where visitors can take their pick from a selection of more than 60 short films about the topics presented in the various sections of the museum. There are some particularly interesting panels by the comic book artist Milo Manara that portray the legends of the Ladin people.

In addition to the main building, there are five local museum branches in the Val di Fassa. They are in renovated buildings of ethnographic and cultural interest, such as the Venetian-style sawmill in Penìa, the shooting hut in Campitello, and Pera watermill.

A lift ensures that the museum is accessible to disabled people.

Attention: The Museum is closed until 9 June 2025 due to renovation works
