Grauno
Age-old Carnival traditions are still celebrated in the Valle di Cembra valley

Grauno is nestled amongst the mountains on the outskirts of the Monte Corno - Alto Adige Nature Park, located at the end of the Val di Cembra, an excellent starting-point for biking and walking tours.
Grauno is famous throughout the area for its Carnival traditions. On the last day of the Carnival, a large pine gets dragged through the streets of the town and lifted in a huge pit known as the "Busa del carnevàl". In compiance with an ancient ritual, the tree is burned at dusk giving rise to a powerful outburst of collective emotion - both because of the fascinating spectacle, and of everyone's pride in contributing to the huge bonfire.
Tourists are also invited to visit the recently refurbished mill of Grauno.
