Cantina Sociale di Ala
The Cantina Sociale di Ala, founded in 1959, is an important cooperative winery in Trentino, vinifying the grapes conferred by about 500 hectares of vineyards located mainly in the municipalities of Basso Trentino, Ala and Avio in particular.
Over the years, the plant has undergone considerable changes as a result of the investments made to adapt the structure to new commercial needs. Currently, about 80% of white berry cultivars (Pinot grigio, Chardonnay, Pinot bianco and Müller Thurgau) are processed, while the rest consists of fine reds, Marzemino, Lagrein and Merlot in particular. On average, Ala's winery produces about 50,000 hectolitres of wine, mostly white, and in particular Pinot grigio, in the types DOC Trentino and IGT Vineyards of the Dolomites.
