FIS Ski Cross World Cup awards ceremony
Award ceremony for Race 1 and presentation of Sunday's heats at the end of the first day of the international ski cross circuit at San Pellegrino Pass
After a day of excitement on the spectacular Ski Cross Monzoni slope at San Pellegrino Pass, a tricky and technical track 1,100 metres long, the best athletes in the world battled it out between jumps, parabolic curves and steep changes in gradient, offering a show of the highest level. Today's winners, in the men's and women's categories, will climb at 6 pm onto the podium set up in Moena's main square to receive the deserved applause of the public. But the excitement does not end here: attention is already turned to Sunday, when the two days of competition will come to an end and the great champions of the weekend will be decreed!
The race course for this edition has been precisely defined thanks to the joint work of the technicians of the Catinaccio lift company, the Livigno builder Tobia Silvestri - who sets up the San Candido course every year -, the course manager Dario Dellantonio and the race director Andreas Krautgasser, assisted by Mattia Giongo. A team of experts who have worked to offer the athletes a course worthy of an international competition.
Once again in this edition, the trophies for the winners bear the signature of the students of the Giuseppe Soraperra Art School of Sèn Jan di Fassa, already protagonists in the realisation of prizes for important international events. For the occasion, the trophy - named "Speedline" and designed by Denyse March - symbolises speed, technique and creativity, celebrating the link between sport and art.
To make this evening even more special, we look forward to a DJ set that will accompany the event with the right musical energy and a refreshment area organised by the Moena Alpine Association, where you can warm up with hot tea and mulled wine.
