"Ars Modi" classical music concert - Katharsis: Viva Wagner
Cinzia Bartoli and Edoardo Bruni will play the heroic and mythical, romantic and passionate notes of one of the cornerstones of German culture and identity, not only from a musical perspective but in a general and absolute sense: Richard Wagner. A declared innovator, intentionally dedicated to surpassing tradition, concretely revolutionary (in 1848 he built barricades alongside Bakunin), he is one of the most controversial and influential figures in the entire Western cultural landscape. He marked a turning point in the history of musical theater (with his concept of the "total work of art") and in music itself (with his harmonic and stylistic innovations). The most famous passages from Tannhäuser, Tristan und Isolde, Meistersinger will be performed in the version for piano four hands arranged by Edoardo Bruni. These pieces will be interspersed with two solo piano compositions: Chopin's first ballade and second scherzo.
