Christmas concert
Christmas chants' night with the Genzianella choir from Tesero
In the church of Maria Ausiliatrice, the Genzianella Choir of Tesero gives an intense and evocative concert: refined harmonies and traditional melodies to bid farewell to the year that is ending and welcome the new one with joy and hope. The music echoes through the aisles and envelops those present in an intimate and cosy atmosphere, charged with deep spirituality.
The Genzianella male choir was founded in Tesero in 1950 by nine friends who were passionate about folk mountain singing, and is one of the longest-running choirs in Trentino. Over the years, it has participated in numerous concerts, festivals and competitions in the region, outside the region and abroad, presenting a repertoire linked to the themes of the Great War and emigration in the Fiemme and Fassa valleys. It performed in the Nervi Hall of the Vatican and in St. Peter's Square in 2007 and 2008, on the occasion of the Tesero nativity scene exhibition, and its particular focus on Christmas carols took it to the Christmas markets in Nuremberg. Today, the choir has about thirty members and is conducted by maestro Diego Cavada. It enthusiastically pursues its activities, convinced of the cultural importance of folk singing and the social value of getting together and singing in friendship.
At 9 p.m. with free admission.
