Walk - Small Church of Saint Blaise of Levico Terme
Simple walk immersed in the ancient history of a small church, a destination for pilgrimages especially during times of plague.

Dedicated to Saint Blaise, Bishop of Sebaste in Armenia, whose martyrdom dates back to 316.

It stands on an archaeological site not yet explored, near an ancient fortified settlement.

Nearby, a hermitage was built in 1640, destroyed by arson in 1669, where a hermit caretaker of the small church lived.

The last hermit is known to have lived there in 1767.

The church was a pilgrimage destination especially during times of plague, and some victims of the disease were buried there: in the summer of 1951, during restoration works, three skeletons buried without coffins were found beside the church. The small hall church is a 14th-century construction, expanded into its current architectural form in 1506.
