Val di Cembra coast to coast

A route in the heart of Val di Cembra, among the terraces of heroic viticulture, small villages, and the Avisio stream

From the Cembra sports field, take a country road that descends among vineyards cultivated on steep terraced slopes down to the shore of the Avisio. Here, cross the footbridge over the river in front of the Pozzolago Power Plant, a fine example of industrial architecture from the 1920s, still active.

From the ravine of the stream, climb following trail E463 to the village of Piazzole, a small and charming village immersed in the countryside.

From Piazzole, climb along trail E463 to the provincial road; cross briefly uphill then turn left to reach Sevignano. Cross the village, admiring the charming artworks dedicated to the "beghel" (the owl), and reach the locality Prada. Continue through the woods toward Val Pomara following signs for the famous Piramidi di Segonzano. Upon reaching the Rio Regnana, cross it and after passing the paved road, continue on the forest road descending to the "Chiosco delle Piramidi." Then descend further toward the charming village of Piazzo, then continue to the Friendship Bridge. After crossing it, turn left and follow the Avisio for about 1 km. Along country roads through vineyards, climb back toward Cembra.
