SAT / E104B - Guardia - monte Finonchio

From Guardia, the painted village, the village of murals, the route leads to the junction with the dirt road on which the E104 route runs, connecting the village of Serrada to the summit of Mount Finonchio. Rather demanding (ascent), it all takes place in a forest area.

The starting point is just above the village of Guardia, alongside the SP220 road. The track, which is immediately a good climb, enters the forest (fir, larch) following an old mule track. At an altitude of 1100 metres we reach and leave a spring with an alpine puddle on the right. From here, still in the dense forest, we rise up a good ascent to join a forest road at an altitude of 1376. Turning left, we follow it, finally on a level ground. After a short journey, at an altitude of 1372 m, we reach one of the hairpin bends of the former military road that from Serrada climbs to Monte Finónchio, marked by No. 104. To reach the summit of the mountain and the alpine refuge dedicated to the 'Fratelli Fabio e Fausto Filzi' (Brothers Fabio and Fausto Filzi), we follow the road upwards.
