SAT / E104B - Guardia - Monte Finonchio
From Guardia, the painted village, the village of murals, the route leads to crossing the dirt road on which the E104 route runs that connects the town of Serrada to the summit of Monte Finonchio. Quite challenging (ascent), it takes place entirely in a forest area.
The starting point is set just above the town of Guardia, next to SP220. The track, which immediately presents a good climb, leads into the woods (fir, larch) following an old mule track. At 1100 m we reach and pass on the right a spring with an alpine pool. From here, still in the dense forest, we ascend facing a strong climb until joining, at 1376 m, a forest road. Turning left, we follow it, finally on flat ground. After a short stretch, at 1372 m, we reach one of the hairpins of the former military road that from Serrada climbs to Monte Finonchio, marked n.104. To reach the summit of the mountain and the mountain hut dedicated to the "Fratelli Fabio e Fausto Filzi", we follow the road continuing upwards.
