600 800 1000 1200 m km 2 4 6 8 10

A smooth cycling climb for you to enjoy the surrounding scenery. The road that from Ponte Arche leads to Passo Durone is not too tiresome and can also be climbed with hard gears, but remember not to overdo it. The slope along the 10 kilometres slightly exceeds 600 meters - from the 405 metres at the start to the 1024 m of the finish line. Continuing downhill for the next 8 kilometres you arrive at Tione, the county town of the Giudicarie valleys.

Safety information

Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.

Turn-by-turn directions

You could say the path climbs up in steps i.e. with some stretches that are almost flat and allow you to rest and to get to the top without becoming overtired. At the start, the slopes allow you to become familiar with the climb without tiring out.  The first stretch of 1 kilometre and a half rises by 6 percent, then you breathe for about 800 metres before taking on two kilometres that are rather challenging. The road, in fact, climbs up to the hardest part, a short stretch with a slope of 9 percent. In Santa Croce del Bleggio, everything reminds us of traditions: here the Bleggio area used to celebrate its religious rites and farming culture. It’s a world based on cooperation and on a predominantly agricultural economy. The road, meanwhile, starts to climb up to Passo Durone. There is only one flat stretch, a few hundred meters before the last 3 and a half kilometres to the finish line. Once you reach the pass, the territory offers several opportunities to delve into nature. For the lovers of trekking, in just under two hours the scenery of the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello and Presanella glaciers opens up in all its beauty: a spectacle known all around the world.
