Our History Route

An initiative by the Alpini of the ANA group of Brentonico, which unfolds along the Italo-Austrian frontline to rediscover 85 military sites and 16 places of scenic value

A route along the Austrian and Italian military roads built before and during the Great War, a route that runs along the frontline on the mountains surrounding the Brentonico Plateau.

The journey starts from the Flag Square at Polsa, 1,240 meters, to reach the Selletta del Vignola to climb to the Summit, 1,607 meters, with a stunning view of the Adige Valley and on clear days as far as Lake Garda.

Then descend to the Selletta di Bocca d’Ardole, 1,391 meters. From here, take the gallery road, where you can admire an important retaining wall, a true work of art, supporting the military road built by 720 workers including Italian soldiers and civilian workers. Then climb to the Corno della Paura, 1,516 meters, followed by a descent past the monument of the 1st Army of the Italian Army erected in 1916 in memory of that royal army. Finally, passing close to Malga Pra Vec di Sopra, you arrive at Malga Susine and the Flag Square.
