Canazei - Mortic - Pecol - Canazei

This route, from the old town of Canazei, follows the dirt road "Mortic" (a ski slope in winter), which follows up the bottom of the small valley ploughed by "Ruf d'Antermont" stream.

From "Piaz G. Marconi" square, head towards the little church of San Floriano, in Canazei’s old town. Go up "Strèda dò Ruf de Antermont", passing by the old sawmill and crossing the bridge over "Antermont" stream on the left. The dirt road (a ski slope in winter; trail sign no. 655) follows up the bottom of the small valley, with gradients that gradually ease. The valley offers a wonderful overview on the majestic Sella group, with Piz Ciavazes on your left and Sass Pordoi on your right. At the crossroads, leave path 655 and then continue to the right, ending up on the state road near the 8th hairpin bend. Proceed carefully uphill on the roadway for about 300 m. At the 9th hairpin bend, take the dirt road on your right that, in some stretches, gets steep. At the top, continue for a couple of km until coming across a path in the woods on your right, with a signpost to Canazei. Here starts the descent on gravel, with some technical parts, that will lead you to Alba. To return to the starting point, follow "Strèda dò Veisc" first and then "Strèda de Parèda".

Beware of the sections on the state road, which is particularly busy during the months of July and August.
