Alba - Pian Trevisan - Penìa - Alba

Medium difficulty route starting from Alba di Canazei, reaching Hotel Villetta Maria in Pian Trevisan, a classic starting point for hikes to Passo Fedaia and the Marmolada.

From the center of Alba, pedal northwards towards the end of the settlement. Cross the state road near Hotel Agomer (Penìa) and take the dirt road passing alongside Hotel Villa Rosella. Cross the wooden bridge to reach the opposite bank of the Avisio stream. The route (marked no. 605) now enters the forest, closely following the watercourse, alternating short climbs with long flat stretches. Climb the valley until you reach the provincial road of Passo Fedaia near the "Pènt de Giaveisc" bridge. Follow the carriageway for about 1 km until "Pènt da Udaer". Leave the main road and continue right on the easy dirt road that, passing next to a quarry, leads to Pian Trevisan (Ciamp Trusan/Trujan), where Villetta Maria stands. The mass and verticality of the looming Gran Vernel are breathtaking and constantly provide shade. For the return, from the hotel, get onto the main Passo Fedaia road and follow it for about fifty meters. At the third hairpin bend, take forest road no. 8 "Agarei" branching left. The route climbs steadily for about 1.5 km. At the fork, turn left and follow the descending path, which becomes Strèda de Treve, towards the settlements of Vera and Lorenz. Cross the entire Penìa district to rejoin the main road and thus return to the starting point.
