2364 - At Malghet del Doss da Bugo 21

<p>A long mountain bike ride from Vattaro towards Forte Fornas and back through the woods on the northern side of the Vigolana along the "soldiers' road".</p>

<p>The route mainly offers historical features, due to the presence of the former Forte Fornas, built by the Austro-Hungarians on the slopes of the Vigolana at the end of the nineteenth century (1878–1880). Together with its twin Forte Brusafer, which guarded the opposite side of the valley, they had the task of controlling the road from Trento up to the plateau. The route also retraces the path of an old military road (soldiers' road) that has been specially restored. Along the route, in addition to historical features, you also encounter the exceptional point of the Malga Doss del Bue restaurant. The restaurant is situated at 1,020 meters altitude, and from its position, you enjoy a spectacular view of the Brenta Dolomites with an extraordinary sunset view of Cima Tosa. On the ground, the route is marked with white-red trail signs indicating "21 AL MALGHET DEL DOSS DA BUGO" (21 is the route number). Maximum attention to signs, route changes, and/or dangerous areas shown on the ground after damage to the woods caused by the Vaia storm of 2018 is recommended!</p>
