Followed by experienced mountain experts (an alpine guide and a mid-mountain guide), you will dive in the wild Aviana Valley, penetrating the ravine carved out by the torrent that emerges at the imposing Preafessa waterfall, a 70-metre waterfall plunging into a verdant gorge. Here you can stop to enjoy the spectacular view and catch your breath, before embarking on the via ferrata Gerardo Sega that will take you almost back to your starting point, offering epic views and a fabulous experience you will hardly forget.
More than a hike, it is an exploration from bottom to top of a valley that hides many wonders: dark gorges, elegant waterfalls, ancient bridges, giants’ marmitte, gorges in torrents and a spectacular via ferrata that is one of the most famous in Trentino.
Where, how, when
- Where: Meeting point at Rifugio Monte Baldo
- When: Sunday 7 July, Saturday 3 August | meeting point at 9.00 am – return at 5.00 pm with the possibility of a snack (extra, to be paid on site)
- Duration of the hike: 7/8 hours including hike, nature talks, lunch break and via ferrata
- Difficulty level: only for those who do not suffer from vertigo and are already familiar with via ferrata, good physical condition, no walking problems – not suitable for children (minimum age 12)
- Clothing and equipment in the participant’s: sturdy mountain boots, suitable clothing and a change of clothes, large rucksack to carry water (abundant) and food (packed lunch) – helmet, harness and heel pad provided by the guide.
