It is possible to practice sports-climbing near Trento in the rock-climbing area located on the natural cliffs of the town of Vela. It is in the town outskirts, on the road leading to Zambana Vecchia. Just before the powder store on the left, you can spot two rocky juts about 50 m high. The area is divided into three sectors for a total of 62 routes covering a difference in altitude from 10 m to 45 m and a difficulty rating from 5c to 7b. It is a so-called stamina climb. The rock-climbing area faces east, so recommended seasons for climbing are spring and autumn. 60 m ropes are mandatory.
