Antica Segheria Veneziana
Active until 1973, the Antica segheria veneziana was reactivated by the municipality of Cavalese for demonstration purposes. The visit allows you to better understand the central role of this place for the Flemish community
A real institution for the community of Cavalese. This old municipal sawmill was active until 1973. For some years it has been restored by the Municipality of Cavalese with the old water operation. Today it works in summer, for demonstration purposes: a visit allows you to take a journey back in time to discover the forest civilization of the past. Thanks to this sawmill, the need for working timber was met, obtained - at a rate of about 500 cubic metres each year - from the woods owned by the Municipality. The sawing work lasted five months. Entrance to the sawmill is free of charge.
