In the town of wine, the harvesting festival and the national casks contest
Wine tasting, visit to the vineyards and dinner in the courtyards with music, street-art, drummers and fantastic characters, just few steps from Verona.
With "Uva e dintorni" Trentino-region celebrates the beginning of harvest. The event takes place the first weekend of September in Avio, only few steps far from FAI- Castle. Here you will appreciate the atmosphere of the past, between medieval-life and ancient crafts. Discover the hobbyist-market and the local crafts exposition or enjoy the guided tours though the vineyards or palaces. For dinner we suggest you to try the typical food at the different "Corti dei Sapori" with skewers, shin, salami, cheese, home-made desserts, wines, grappa and coffee. Itinerant shows and music will animate the historical centre during the whole festival. Last but not least: the procession and the "national casks contest" between the Wine-cities, on Sunday afternoon. The challenge is divided in 4 trials: the up-hill cask push, the cask-slalom, the grape treading, the cask water filling. The grand finale in the evening with the "Enchanting" fireworks, the traditional greeting to the summer-end in the Municipality of Avio.
