Town festival in Fontanazzo
Celebration of the Holy Mass in the small church of the hamlet, dedicated to the Madonna del Carmine. Following, the performance of the local brass band "Mùsega Auta Fascia" in the Town Hall Square
It boasts one of the oldest place names in the Fassa Valley, mentioned in a document from 1142 where it is called "Vundenates". Fontanazzo (from the Ladin "fontanac", land with spring water) is the largest hamlet of Mazzin and is even divided in two. Fontanazzo di sotto houses the town hall decorated with a fresco of the patron saint, St Magdalena, and four bas-reliefs depicting typical trades of the past. The square is dominated by the church, founded in 1638, with a shingle cusped bell tower, simple interior and Baroque altar. Next to it is the bronze monument "el Pèster de Fascia" (the shepherd of Fassa), created in 1983, the symbol of the valley.
