Through the Alps
Ten venues for a single photographic story dedicated to the Alps
The aim of the exhibition "Attraverso le Alpi" (Through the Alps) is to "read, isolate, compose and recompose the everyday life of the landscapes of the 'high lands' in artistic frames, in order to draw warnings and new perspectives".
The Urban Reports organisation, driven by the Associazione Architetti Arco Alpino (Alps Architects Association), has selected 274 shots that will be on show from Friday 18 September in 10 provinces and 12 different valleys, from the extreme western French border to the eastern Slovenian border of the Alps, passing through Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The exhibition promoters explain that they wanted to "track down the signs, traces and characters necessary to recount the history of the vast Alpine cultural landscape made up of architecture, languages and traditions".
This new project "promotes a further level of reading and intends to observe the normal methods of use and exploitation of the territories that are testimony to the dialectical and evolutionary relationship between man and the environment in which he lives.
