Year after year, the trekking experience at the 'I Suoni delle Dolomiti' is one of the most immersive and intimate of the entire festival, with its ability to fully encapsulate the elements at the core of the fête’s philosophy: music and mountains. This time, the initiative consists of 3 days of walking amid the dream-like Pale di San Martino, following the lead of the dedicated Mountain Guides and passionate musicians with whom the travellers will share the journey, the landscapes, and the memories.
This year, the event is dedicated to a musician and friend of the festival, as well as a soulful representative of Italy’s singer-songwriter community, who departed this world all too early: Gianmaria Testa. An expert in bringing the simplest stories to life, making their notes unforgettable without obscuring any of their details, he will climb towards the summit in the company of this unusual artistic gathering, lifting the spirit of his songs closer to the sky.
Taking part will be the renowned actor, comedian, conductor, singer and voice-over actor Neri Marcorè, along with guitarist Domenico Mariorenzi, who have offered interpretations of the works of major singer-songwriters and of Testa’s catalogue for some time; as well as cellist Mario Brunello and clarinetist Gabriele Mirabassi, both of whom collaborated and shared moments of creativity with Testa himself.
Route
1st day: 3:30 h walking time; altitude change: ascent of 700 m; difficulty level: EE
The route is extremely scenic, across areas of scree and green meadows, and has a number of exposed stretches
2nd day: 5 h walking time; altitude change: ascent of 300 m and descent of 450 m; difficulty level: E
The route, which is of great geological interest, is long rather than challenging
3rd day: 3 h walking time; altitude change: descent of 1,000 m; difficulty level: EE
The route starts out as a rocky trail with a number of exposed stretches, before turning into the woods

The event requires payment, and has limited places
Taking part to the trekking experience is subject to the safety and containment measures to address the Covid-19 pandemic.
Cost of participation: €370.00
This fee includes meals — some will be packed meals — board and breakfast at the lodges, accompaniment and assistance from the Mountain Guides, transfer costs and a festival t-shirt. Drinks and sleeping bags are the responsibility of participants
