Giro d'Italia Climbs - Passo Sella
The ascent to Passo Sella is one of the most coveted goals for cyclists around the world. There are a total of 23 hairpin bends to face up to the Dolomite pass, which is reached in 12 km and 800 m of elevation gain (average gradient 6.9% with peaks up to 13%).

From the center of Canazei, take state road no. 48 (S.S. 48). From the first curves, there is a gradient of 5.8% which approaches 7.6% at the third kilometer. You pass through the Pian de Frataces locality (Lupo Bianco) and turn left at the junction. The route alternates wide and well-designed curves, flat sections, narrow and close hairpin bends, long straight lines and steep uphill stretches. The pass, dominated by a powerful stone castle, connects Val di Fassa to Val Gardena. Twice it has been the Cima Coppi of Giro d’Italia, meaning the highest climb faced in an edition of the "pink race".

Return on the same route or possibility to continue towards Val Gardena, following the Sellaronda Bike Day or Marathona dles Dolomites routes.
