Hike to Monte Altissimo
The northernmost and highest peak of Monte Baldo is Monte Altissimo. From there you can enjoy a stunning view of the lake, Adamello, and the Brenta Dolomites.
Impressive hike on a military resistance dirt road. Many hairpin bends lead to the summit of Monte Altissimo with fantastic panorama which in good visibility includes not only the Brentonico plateau but also the surroundings of the lake and the limestone walls of the Brenta, the glacial mountains of Adamello and Presanella to the west. Climbing in an alpine environment you can observe the development of a unique flora. Some European species grow only here. It is famous for the Cinquecento. At the top you can see the remains of the First World War through trenches, howitzers, and military resistance bunkers. The D. Chiesa refuge will reward the effort of the climb. Path suitable for everyone because it is not too difficult.
