Windsurfing lake Garda
Garda TRENTINO

PWA World Tour

Event details

From 10 to 14 May 2023 hundreds of colourful sails will be ripping through the waves that lap the shores of Trentino’s Lake Garda during the stage of the PWA World Cup, the series of races organized by the Professional Windsurfers Association since 1996 which brings together the world’s very best windsurfers.

It’s in Trentino that Lake Garda squeezes between the mountains, and the constant, regular winds that blow across its waters make it one of the premier destinations for sports enthusiasts, and venue to a number of major international regattas.

The Torbole stage of the PWA World Cup, which sees up to 64 participants compete in the slalom category, is of particular note, as it’s the only stage to be held on a lake.

In the cradle of windsurfing

Pelèr and Ora are the names of the 2 winds that ripple across the waters at Garda Trentino. The waves here are regular and never too big, making them perfect for windsurfing or sailing.

A land with a thousand faces

The Garda Trentino area extends beyond the shores of the lake: it’s an open-air gym, which extends to the Brenta Dolomites, Valle di Ledro and Valle dei Laghi. Ideal destination also for trekking and cycling.

Within the mountains

In addition to Lake Garda, windsurfing can also be enjoyed on other lakes in Trentino. Smaller and more secluded, they represent the ideal destination for those wishing to learn this discipline.
