XXII NATIONAL DAY OF URBAN TREKKING
TRENTO - “The Jubilee Paths between history, culture, and spirituality”
A route through the streets of the historic center with thoughts turned to the Jubilee 2025, the great event of the Church, solemnly opened in Rome last December.
There will be four stops on the Trento itinerary, four places to remember the jubilee churches established in the Diocese of Trento (the Cathedral, the Basilica of Sanzeno, the Church of St. Vigilio in Spiazzo Rendena, the Sanctuary of Piné)
Starting from the Tourism Office of Trento, in Piazza Dante, the trek includes a first stop, not far away, to visit the chapel of the Fugger/Galasso palace dedicated, like the Basilica of Val di Non, to the Holy Martyrs of Anaunia.
Continuing along via Giannantonio Manci and via S. Pietro, the second stop will be reached in piazzetta Michael Gaismayr where, somewhat hidden, lies the ancient Church of St. Anna. The reference for this visit is the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Piné, the fourth jubilee church, dedicated precisely to St. Anna.
Then proceeding along via S. Pietro and via delle Orne, the third stop will be made to visit the Cathedral, the Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of St. Vigilio, patron saint of the Diocese.
The fourth and final stop is planned in piazza Adamo d’Arogno where the large boulder that recalls the legendary passage of St. Vigilio through the rocks of Bus de Vela is located. The reference is to the church of Val Rendena where St. Vigilio was martyred.
“Pilgrims of hope” is the motto of Jubilee 2025, the 25th in the history of the Church, an invitation that we want to seize by proposing an Urban Trekking characterized by visits to places rich in historical and religious significance, in the city of the Council.
The Urban Trekking in Trento organized by Apt Trento, is conceived and realized in collaboration with the Association of Tourist Guides and Accompanists of Trentino.
